Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
All early years providers, including Childminders, are required to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (Revised Framework EYFS 2012), which sets the standards from Birth to Five.
We work closely with parents from the very first day. The settling in plan is tailor made for each child to ensure minimum separation anxieties. We aim to adopt the child's already established routines where possible. We set 3 or 4 targets for each child every month, this can be anything from using a cup to riding a scooter safely. Parents are updated frequently by email and or photo streams. We also use an online package called Tapestry, an online learning journal that allows us to create records of observations instantly and enables parents to view and comment on their child's special moments.
We plan, observe and assess in accordance with the Revised Framework and fulfil all of the Statutory Welfare Requirements.
We have attended training on the implementation of its contents and use it to ensure that every child's needs are met and they they fulfil their potential.
